True or False

Most veterans have an accurate disability rating. True or false?

FALSE

In our experience, more than half of the veterans we connect with meet the VA’s criteria for a disability rating increase.

You don't have to go to the VA to have your disabilities evaluated. True or false?

TRUE

The VA recognizes the demand for disability evaluations and their resource constraints. To help address these concerns, private medical professionals are trusted to conduct accurate exams and document their findings. The VA even publishes templates to use in private exams.

Veterans Service Officers (VSO) typically provide medical evidence. True or false?

FALSE

Entities like The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and Disabled American Veterans (DAV) are not licensed medical professionals and do not provide medical evidence. They can draft/submit other disability claim paperwork to the VA on your behalf though, so you should definitely consider partnering with a VSO.

  • Discover Your Options

Tell us about your service-connected disabilities and we'll let you know how the severity of your conditions matches VA rating criteria. We can also calculate how increasing your individual disability ratings will affect your overall disability rating. If you don't qualify for an increase, we'll let you know upfront and suggest other resources you may want to contact.

  • Medical Record Review

Have you ever received treatment at the VA? If so, we’ll need to reference a copy of your VA treatment records to review. We may ask for private medical evidence and/or some additional medical documentation, like your latest lab tests. A record review is a key factor in drafting a comprehensive DBQ. If you're not sure how or where to find your medical records, we can help point you in the right direction

  • Intake

Once we have your records on file, we'll send you electronic intake form(s). This is your chance to document the details! Take your time - these forms are vital to the process. You can complete your intake in one sitting, or save your progress and finish filling out your form later. Not only will this help streamline your disability exam, it also helps ensures your voice is heard.

  • Disability Evaluation

We'll connect you with a qualified medical professional in your area so you can schedule and attend a disability exam for a date/time that works for you. Don't worry about bringing any documents with you, we'll send the doctor everything in advance!

  • Submit Your VA Claim

Following your exam, we’ll finalize your documentation and send you complete DBQs. Then you'll be ready to upload them as medical evidence and and submit your disability claim!
